NATURAL HAIR CARE FOR WOMEN

NATURAL HAIR CARE FOR BLACK WOMEN
Hello babies!
Thought should post this on my blog detailing how to properly care for natural hair to ensure growth and strength.
Most people miss these simple and key points. Caring for natural hair isn’t as hard as you all think when you have a little guidance.

First let’s see various hair types
Type 1: straight hair
Type 2: wavy hair, it can either be 2b or 2c depending on the intensity of the wave
Type 3: curly hair, this type can be either 3a, 3b or 3c
Type 4: very tight curls, again it’s either 4a, 4b or 4c and generally does not have defined curl pattern

THE RIGHT SHAMPOO AND CONDITIONER

Always wash your hair with a shampoo and a conditioner, also don’t be tempted to wash your hair often as it causes hair dry out.
Another thing to consider is to wash your hair with warm water followed by a rinse of cold water, this makes your hair shiny and healthy.
When choosing your shampoo and conditioner, opt for a light formula packed with oils such as jojoba oil, argan oil, black castor oil etc.
After shampooing, condition your ends and lengths avoiding the roots.

MOISTURISING IS THE KEY

Like plants our hair needs to be moisturised to grow in a healthy way.
You can always go for LEAVE IN CONDITIONERS, hair masks and hair oils such as coconut oil, olive oil and almond oil. This will prevent hair splitting in the future.
You can moisturise your hair with oils every day or every other day keeping your ends moisturised.

TRIMMING SPLIT ENDS

You can always trim your hair as soon as you feel the split ends to prevent damage on the hair lengths.

HOT OIL TREATMENT

If you have black natural hair, you can always go for treatments once or twice a month and this can be a great way of adding shine and moisture to your hair.
Hot oil treatments can be done at home with your favourite hair oils. In the future I will elaborate more on how you can do this at home.
Hot oil treatments should not be done frequently.

RIGHT SLEEPING PILLOWCASE

Satin and silk pillowcase, tend to restore hair moisture for black natural hair compared to cotton pillowcase which draw out the moisture, but also an added benefit of silk and satin pillowcase is that they tend to be more kind to our skin.

TOP TIPS

·         When combing your hair always opt for  a wide toothed comb, this will help reduce hair breakage due to combing tension
·         Avoid using heat on your hair or use it on a low  temperature with heat protecting spray
·         Best recommended brands for natural hair, CANTU, SHEAR MOISTURE, CRÈME OF NATURE, AS I AM AND ANTI JACKIE’S.
